This song was written by Joel Plimmer, Rick Ryan and Marti Walker. Rick's deeply moving lyrics and Joel's rich musical bed provided the perfect foundation for the addition of my vocal and melodic interpretation. The final "take" of this song in the studio sent me out of my body...it a was surreal experience for all of us.
So many of us look to our own needs...a heart can harden.
A rose blooms in the thickest bed of weeds to make a garden.
With every smile on earth, love plants its seeds...time to begin it.
Each person on this planet someday pleads for one more minute.
Oh, it's time to change our additude, to learn how to forgive.
Turn each complaint to gratitude - let the Spirit live.
Forget the things that money buys, forget the latest fashion.
It's time to look into each other's eyes and feel compassion.
It's the people in your life who criticize with words that hurt you...
it's the so-called "friend" doesn't hear your cries when dreams desert you.
The person in this world you most despise - a smile could save him.
Once Ghandi looked into his killer's eyes, and he forgave him.
Oh, it's time to change our additude, to learn how to forgive.
Turn each complaint to gratitude - let the Spirit live.
Forget the things that money buys, forget the latest fashion.
It's time to look into each other's eyes and feel compassion.
It's time to look into each other's eyes and feel compassion.
Compassion, compassion, compassion......
Can you feel? Can you feel? Can you feel.......
